Father's Day

This photo was taken on Father's Day. Shane is a great father and we are so thankful for him!

These next two photos remind me of the poem "Footprints In the Sand." The Lord holds our hands when we   need help but sometimes we just need Him to carry us instead. The Lord is always ready and willing to help us through rough times and carry us through even rougher times.

I love the William is looking at his baby sister. He loves her so much.

Half way through June!

Seems for the past 9 months I couldn't wait for June to get here and now we are already half way through it! I can't believe how fast time has been going these past few weeks! Jennifer will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! Already! I just can't get over it.

I am counting down the days until I see my sisters. They will be here July 11! I am so excited for them to see where I live, meet my friends and church family, see how much Will has changed and learned, and of course to meet Jennifer. It will be so nice to have them here!

Then just a week after they leave we will be packing up for our first road trip as a family. We will drive 4-5 days to Calgary then after spending a couple days there drive to Edmonton then start the drive back home. It will be so much fun. We are looking forward to showing William so many new things. One of the things we are most excited about is taking him to the Calgary Zoo. William LOVES animals so he will really enjoy that!

Well, have a good week everyone!

She is here!

As most of you already know, Jennifer Liz Marie Gordon arrived on May 30, 2012 at 4:26 pm. My water broke at 3 am but labor never started naturally. It would have, but we had no idea how long it would take. Once the water breaks you only have 18 hours to get the baby out before infection can happen. So, they thought it best to induce me at 10 am. I was in active labor by 1:15pm. The labor pains came strong and not gradually like natural labor. By 4 I decided I wanted an epidural. Once they got the epidural in it was minutes later that Jennifer was born. I guess my body just needed to relax. I am praising the Lord for giving me such a quick recovery. I am in very very little pain and feel up to most my regular chores around the house. I am trying to rest but I just can't rest when my house is messy lol. So, I will slowly get things back into order and rest in between things. William loves his little sister. Although she is only 5 days old I can't imagine life without her. She     fits perfectly into our family and we just love her so much!! Thank you, Lord!

Almost 38 weeks!

Here I am at 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Not as big as I was William I don't think, but maybe I am wrong. I am definitely uncomfortable and ready to be done being pregnant! I have contractions every now and then but they never stick around. The past few days have been sooo nice outside so William and I try to spend as much of the day outside as possible. We take 3-4 walks a day and spend time playing out in the driveway, too. I am so thankful for him. If I didn't have him to keep me busy I would go crazy waiting for this next baby to come.

This Thursday I will be teaching a Bible story at Healthy Babies. I decided to teach the story of Jonah. It has the excitement of being swallowed by a whale and also teaches the need for forgiveness of sins. So I thought that would be a good story to start with. Please pray that it goes well and that plenty of moms are there. The weather is so nice that soon moms are going to stop coming to the healthy babies group. It is normal up here for everyone to stay out really late since the sun is up well past 1 am now. Then they just sleep in for most or all of the morning. Anyway, so keep that in prayer, please!!

Have a good week!

Since my last update...

We started teaching William sign language about 5 months ago. He has been doing pretty well with it. He can :sign about 10 different signs. The ones he uses in conversation without us having to tell him to say it are: please, thankyou, all done, love, and tooth brush. The others he can do but he doesn't use them to communicate to us (if that makes sense). Anyway, here is a short video of him doing a couple signs for me.

Also since my last post I was able to have a ladies meeting with the ladies at the church. It went pretty well. We had 8 ladies including myself. I started a study on Romans chapter one but we only got 13 verses into it. This month we will pick it up again. I really really enjoyed the study so I hope the ladies enjoy it as well. But my favorite time of the ladies meeting (and all the previous ladies meetings) has been the time of testimony and prayer. It is so encouraging to hear what other Christians are learning and going through and how the Lord is working in their lives. So please continue to pray for our ladies meetings!

Also I am praising the Lord for getting me on the schedule at Healthy Babies to teach a Bible story. I am still undecided about what story I will teach but I will teach it on May 24. I want a story that is exciting but also has some foundational truths about God in it. So please pray with me as I decide what story to teach.

Thankyou! Have a great week!

Plans in the making!

Shane and I are finally able to start planning our summer vacation! We are pretty excited about it. On August 1 we will start the 3-4 day drive to Calgary, Alberta. There we will get Will's citizenship (really the whole point of the trip) and then spend a couple days touring the city. We plan to visit the Calgary Zoo which we are very excited about. Since William likes to stop and talk to EVERY dog or bird we see when we go on walks here I know he will LOVE seeing all the different animals at the zoo. He definitely got his love for animals from my side of the family :-)

After we spend 3 days or so in Calgary we will drive to Edmonton, Alberta. That should only be a 3-4 hour drive. We will spend a couple days there at the West Edmonton Mall. They have a mini theme park, an ice rink, and a water park so we know William will enjoy visiting there. Then we will begin the 3-4 day drive back home.

That's about all that we have planned so far. It will be a lot of driving but we plan to stop and let William see anything that looks interesting. We will just take our time and enjoy being together. It should be fun. Please do be praying about that trip as Shane will most likely be doing all the driving and he has never really driven that far or in the city before. Also please pray that William's paperwork for the US citizenship goes smoothly.

Tonight is a ladies' meeting. I have been studying Romans 1 for the past couple weeks and I am really excited to share with the ladies what I have learned. It is not the easiest chapter to understand so I really need God's help to teach it.

I am 33 weeks and 2 days pregnant now. Only 6 weeks and 5 days left! That's only 47 days!!!!!! I am pretty much prepared for the baby now. I still have a couple things left on my spring cleaning list but other than that I am ready. We bought a second hand bassinet for only $10! It is in like new condition so I am very excited about it. Baby will be in our room for at least the first few months so having a bassinet is so much nicer than a play pen. The bassinet takes up less space. This week we finally decided who we wanted to ask to watch William while I am in the hospital. We asked Shane's sister and she said that would be fine. So that is nice to have that taken care of. I have baby's clothes washed and folded and the blanket I made for him/her is sitting in the bassinet. Now all we need is baby!

Well, have a great weekend everyone!!

Easter Pictures

Here are some photos from Easter. Not much to update on, so I will just leave the photos for you!
