Movie Night

I had a fun night Tuesday. Shane had to go drive for work for about a half hour after supper. I just stayed home and cross stitched. When he came home he brought two movies, "The Pursuit of Happiness" and "The Last Sin Eater". He also got two Crush Grape sodas and chips and salsa. We had a fun night just staying in and watching movies. I love when he does random things like that.

Nothing much else is going on here. It snowed pretty well yesterday. I am learning how to drive in it. I used to be really nervous but Shane is teaching me and I am not scared to drive in it anymore. Im not normally scared to drive in the snow but the big truck is much different from what I am used to driving.

Well, I will go. Next time I post I will have a new nephew. Hehe.

Guitars and Tootsie Rolls

Well, I started teaching guitar lessons yesterday. I am teaching my friend, Angie. We had a good time. I love teaching it. After the lesson Shane went to play basketball so Angie and I watched a movie and talked until he came back. When he got back we played a couple games then took Angie home. It was a late night but I really enjoyed it.

I am so thankful. I have been praying that the Lord would show me where a paper is that I need for my permanent residency application. I have been so worried over it because I NEED it. Yesterday He showed me where it was. I am so thankful, He is so good! Now I can have my application out by October 30. Yay!

I don't really have a whole lot to post today. Nothing out of the ordinary is going on. So I will end it here. bye.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Shane and I had a fun weekend. But before mentioning that I want to say that Shane and I ran again...we measured it to be 2.9 kilometers which equals out to 2 1/4 miles. We ran it faster this time because I didn't have to take a break in the middle. That's right....we ran it straight through. I was so proud of myself for not stopping. Hehe. Of course, it was Shane's motivation that kept me going.

We had the teens over to our house Friday night. Shane gave a devotion then we played lifesize clue outside. I used the Bible Clue that Bubby and I made. They really enjoyed it. I posted pictures and a video of them playing on our photobucket (photobucket.com/gordonduo). Clinton won the Clue game but it was close. Once everyone was gone I talked Shane into watching Pride and Prejudice with me. I was so excited but then I fell asleep halfway through and he was really bored with it so we turned it off and went to bed.

Saturday Shane and I slept in. We were exhausted from the week (as usual) and didn't want to set an alarm. Once we were up and ready for the day we went to the church to do some laundry. While that was going we went to the library to get library cards then went to Max's News Stand to get hot chocolate. Then we went to his parent's house to get a recipe off the internet for chocolate cream pie. I was going to make it for Thanksgiving. After that we went to Stanton's to buy the ingredients we needed for the pie. We just relaxed the rest of the night.

Sunday I got to teach the Sunday School class for the first time officially as the teacher. I really enjoyed it. The kids are excited about the new things we have going for it. Sunday afternoon we went to Shane's parents' house to celebrate Thanksgiving. All of Shane's brother and sisters were there with their families. We had a good time and it was pretty yummy. I plan to post pictures from that on photobucket also. That night...around 10 or so Shane and I watched the sky. The Northern Lights were going just a bit and although they were dim I loved them. The stars were also awesome that night. It was the clearest I've ever seen a sky before. It was so pretty. We stood out (it was about 20 degrees) for at least 15 or 20 minutes. We loved it.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving so Shane and I both had off. We had another sleep over in the living room Sunday night and didn't get up until noon or after. I made cinnamon balls and quiche (however you spell it) for breakfast. We stayed in bed and watched movies all day ( I crocheted, too, of course). It was such a fun day.

Well that was a long post. I had a fun weekend.

Of Cheese and Bologna

Well, my weekend flew by once again. We had a pretty good weekend. Friday we just stayed at home. We rented the movie 'Earth'. We enjoyed it. Although the makers of the movie were trying to push evolution, all it did was showed how awesome God is. It showed how the whole earth was created with such organization. God did everything perfectly.

Saturday Shane had to work so I slept in again. He called around 10 or 10:30 and asked if I would drive to the airport to pick up some lunch for him and his friend Pat. I had not been to the airport since I got here so it was a bit of an adventure. It is about 15 minutes outside of town. I drove 60 mph for the first time since July! It was so fun. In town here you can't drive faster than like 20 mph. So at first I was not used to it but by the ride home I was loving driving so fast. Hehe. Then once I got back into town I had to drop back down to 20 mph which made me feel like I was crawling.

Then Saturday night after Shane was done work we were able to go out for a jog. I was really anxious to do so because I have not really ran since July. Before we left I checked the temperature. It was 22 degrees. I wore like 3 layers top and bottom and of course I wouldn't leave without my gloves and hat. We went on a jog that was about 3 km ( I think that is about 2 1/2 miles or so...not sure). I ran the first third then had to walk for about the next third then ran the rest of the way. It was tough for me since I havent ran for son long and I am not used to running in the cold but Shane ran it like nothing. In fact, he went for a second lap while I waited in the truck.

Sunday morning Mrs Donley asked me if I wanted to take over the 5-9 year old Sunday School class. I was so excited. What and answer to prayer! Of course I said yes so I sat in while she taught it this week and next week I will start doing it by myself. She gave me some really good ideas and the two of us are really excited about the potential of the class. It will be a great experience.

Well, that is all for now. Bye.
