God is working!

Well I am so sorry that I haven't posted in so long! A lot has been going on. My sisters were here for the past 2 weeks. We had soo much fun and I am so thankful they were able to be here. They got to experience everyday life in Inuvik as well as everyday life with my kids. They taught me so much and I am so thankful for them. We had a great time.

I have a couple praises which are accompanied with prayer requests. First is for my Sunday school class. I teach the 5-9 year olds. This past week my lesson didn't really lend itself to teaching salvation but I prayed and asked the Lord to give me an opportunity to present the Gospel sometime throughout the class. The Lord used Psalm 23 and the Good Shepherd to give me an opportunity to talk about salvation. Some kids were distracted but one student who is just 8 years old listened very very closely. When I told them that we are sinners and sin isn't allowed into heaven he looked up at me with a very worried look on his face and asked, "then how can I get into heaven?" What a wonderful question to hear! I then went on to tell him how he can know for sure that he can go to heaven. He never told me if he got saved that morning or not but I know that if he didn't he is very very close to getting saved. The Lord is working in his heart. Please pray for him.

Another amazing praise is for the opportunity that the Lord gave me this past week. I go to a Healthy Babies program a couple times a week. It is a moms and babies group funded by the government. I have been going  since William was just 5 weeks old and have been praying for an opportunity to witness to the director, Tammy, since then. Well, back in April she asked me to come and teach a Bible story at the program the way I would teach it in Sunday school. So in May I taught about Jonah. It went really well so she asked me to come back in July. So last week I went with my sisters to teach the story of Creation. We also did a craft that said what God created on each day. It went pretty well. We had 3 kids and 5 adults there. Afterward the director, Tammy, took a craft home to teach it to her daughter and I saw many moms reading the little booklet that said that God created the world. I am still in awe that I went into a government funded program and taught that God created the world. God is good! Please keep praying for that little ministry I have there. God is working!

Canada Day, July 4th and yummy cake!

We celebrated Canada Day on July 1st. Shane got us all matching "Eh Team" shirts. We had a great day and William LOVED the parade.

Our July 4th was a little less eventful but still a great day. We wore our patriotic Red, White, and Blue :-) My kids are pretty cute in Canadian and American colors :-)

Here is Shane giving the challenge at the youth/young adults activity last night. We have a youth/young adult night every other Friday and a church activity once a month. We try to do something at least 3 Fridays of the month. So far it has been going great. We usually have between 10-15 youth/young adults.

And this is the yummy cake mentioned in my title. I made it wheat free, egg free, and nut free and it was sooo yummy! I will share the recipe with you. You have to try it because it is sooo easy to make and tastes so good!
