Our Christmas Tree

Here is our Christmas tree. We, well...Shane, cut it down last week along the Dempster Highway. We had a good time walking around in the knee-deep snow trying to find the perfect tree.

One morning we woke up and saw it on the floor so now we lean it in the corner. We use a glowing snowman instead of a star on the top because all the stars in the store were too big for our tree. W e are very happy with our tree. Oh, and by the way...there are maple flavored candy canes on there. Hehe.

Busy Weekend

Shane and I had a busy weekend house sitting for our friends, Pat and Shannon. They went to Edmonton for the weekend so we watched their house and puppy. His name is Gizmo.

On Monday I attempted to make marshmallow snowmen:
They were supposed to look like they had top hats on but instead they just looked like they had bad toupees. So, I made one with a mullet and one with a mohawk: They make me think of Jon.

4 Months Yesterday

Yesterday was four months since I married my Shane :-) I'm so glad to be married to him.

We had the chance last night to drive around Inuvik for a while. We looked at all the Christmas lights. I had such a good time. I never realized Inuvik was so big!

Last weekend Shane took me to the annual craft fair. He bought me 3 Christmas ornaments. They're pretty neat. Two have Inukshuks on them and one has a Christmas present that says snow on it. I can't wait to put them on our tree that I can't wait to go cut down. We haven't really planned what day to do it yet. It will be either this coming Saturday or the next. Yay Christmas trees! I can't wait for Christmas!

Well, that is all for now.

Warmer Day

When Shane and I were eating lunch today we were talking about how much warmer it felt today then yesterday. Yesterday it was -25 and boy was that cold! But today it is only -2 and what a difference that makes! Ha, just like they said would happen...I think -2 is warm.

Shane and I discovered one last fee that needs to be paid before we send off the application. Praise the Lord! He showed it to us before it was too late! So we paid it and we are officially mailing out the application today at 5:00 pm. Praise the Lord! After 3 1/2 months the first step is over!

Titus Allen

This is a picture of a sunrise behind our house. It was taken at about 11:15 am. The sun is taking longer and longer to rise each morning. It is getting pretty cold, too. It was -18 this morning when I left for work. I told Shane that I remember when I thought 0 degrees was cold.

My new nephew was born last Tuesday. His name is Titus Allen. ( I am saying this despite the fact that all of you already know that). So anyhow, I am a proud aunt again.

We had a fun weekend. Shane's neices and nephews slept over Friday night. Well, four of them did. We had a good time with them.

Sunday was sorta busy. I was able to go to Arctic Tern again. They asked me to share my testimony so I did. I am always excited to share my testimony because it reminds me again how good God has been to me. It's like that song's lyrics, 'show me where You brought me from to where I am today'. That's exactly what happens when I share my testimony. God is so good and He reminds me of it so often.

So that is pretty much my weekend. Now I have the whole week ahead of me. Oh, please keep praying for me as I prepare my permanent resident application. All I have to do now is double check everything then I will send it out.

Movie Night

I had a fun night Tuesday. Shane had to go drive for work for about a half hour after supper. I just stayed home and cross stitched. When he came home he brought two movies, "The Pursuit of Happiness" and "The Last Sin Eater". He also got two Crush Grape sodas and chips and salsa. We had a fun night just staying in and watching movies. I love when he does random things like that.

Nothing much else is going on here. It snowed pretty well yesterday. I am learning how to drive in it. I used to be really nervous but Shane is teaching me and I am not scared to drive in it anymore. Im not normally scared to drive in the snow but the big truck is much different from what I am used to driving.

Well, I will go. Next time I post I will have a new nephew. Hehe.

Guitars and Tootsie Rolls

Well, I started teaching guitar lessons yesterday. I am teaching my friend, Angie. We had a good time. I love teaching it. After the lesson Shane went to play basketball so Angie and I watched a movie and talked until he came back. When he got back we played a couple games then took Angie home. It was a late night but I really enjoyed it.

I am so thankful. I have been praying that the Lord would show me where a paper is that I need for my permanent residency application. I have been so worried over it because I NEED it. Yesterday He showed me where it was. I am so thankful, He is so good! Now I can have my application out by October 30. Yay!

I don't really have a whole lot to post today. Nothing out of the ordinary is going on. So I will end it here. bye.
