BRRRR!!

This morning I checked the temperature...-41! I think it might be the coldest day of the year so far. It is cold! I wasn't able to take William out yesterday because it was too cold and I don't think I will bring him out today either. When I walked the dog I only lasted 5 minutes before my legs were freezing and my face hurt. I am really looking forward to the warmer days and I hope they are not too far away!

I finally took a picture of my baby belly. I am 26 weeks today but the picture was taken 2 days ago, so technically I was only 25 weeks when the photo was taken. Also I found a picture of when I was 25 weeks along with William. So just for fun, I got that one to compare to the one from a couple days ago. The picture on the left is from when I was 25 weeks with William and the picture on the right is 25 weeks with the new baby.

Thankful for sunny days!

Well today is another beautiful sunny day! I am so thankful for days like these. I love how the sun fills the house when I pull the curtains back.

I only have 15 weeks left in my pregnancy. I can't believe I am this near to the end already! I am sure these last weeks will go slowly though as I get more and more anxious for baby to be here. I had another ultrasound last week and it was amazing to see the baby. He/she moved all around and is growing so well! He is even measuring big for his age. So everything looks great.

So thankful for the Word of God and what the Lord has been teaching me lately. If you ask Him to show you something, He will show you! It's amazing and wonderful to learn more about the Lord. The more I learn about His character I realize how sinful and useless I am. I need Him and His strength for everything in my life. I am so thankful He loves me enough to take the time to teach this to me and then help me also. I have been studying Romans 3 and learning about the Lord's righteousness. Like I said, as I see Him for who He really is, I begin to get a better look at what I really am.

William is doing really well. I know I have said it before, but it is true: he is the best little helper! I love the way God made him! Everyday just about he brings the trash can from his room and dumps it into the kitchen trash can then puts his trash can back where it belongs. I never even told him to do it. He just does it! And if he sees trash laying around he will pick it up and throw it away. I am so thankful for him. He is such a great buddy.

Shane has been very busy these past few months. He works Monday-Thursday at Stantons and then works Friday and sometimes Saturday at the church with Mr Forney. He preaches once or twice a week, teaches RU ministry once a month or so, and leads music 2-3 times a week. He is also still under Mr Forney's mentoring which involves book assignments and book reports among other things. He is doing really well keeping up with everything and spending time with me and Will at home, too. Both of us are learning a lot about the ministry and look forward to the day when Shane will be pastor here. We both have a lot to learn before that happens, though.

Well, have a great week!

Happy Wednesday!

Well today I am 23 weeks along in my pregnancy. Shane pointed out to me this afternoon that in 13-17 weeks we will have our newest little one. It seems so much shorter when you think of it that way. I think of it as I only have 17 weeks left with just me and Will. I am just trying to treasure every moment I have with just the two of us. I know it will be wonderful when baby is born but I can't help but think that some days I will look back and miss it being just me and Will. I probably will never think that once baby is born, at least that is what I am told.

This morning William was a champ waiting in the hospital with me for an hour and a half. I had to get the glucose test done and to do that you have to drink the gross orange drink then wait in the waiting room for an hour until they draw my blood. I got there 15 minutes early so that added some time to the wait. He did great, though, and didn't get fidgetty until the last 10 minutes. He is a great little buddy. Then this afternoon we walked to the bank then to Healthy Babies. It is soo nice out lately that we try to take at least one long walk every day.

Last week we got to go to the Aklavik church for a night of their family conference. They had a speaker from Florida come up and the service was really great. We were so thankful to be able to visit with our friends while we were in Aklavik. First we went to see Kai and his parents then we went to the Noland's house for dinner (they are the missionaries in Aklavik). The ice road was beautiful! Well, everything was beautiful: the sky, the sun, the sunset, the snow, etc. Everything was so beautiful and it was a great night to be out. I will try to post pics of it next time I post.

Anyway, I better go. We are having a ladies fellowship tomorrow evening and I need to study some more for that. Have a great week!

It remains a mystery!

Well we had our ultrasound last week and the tech could not see whether we are having a boy or a girl. So it will remain a mystery until June! Shane thinks it's a boy and I am undecided. Sometimes I think it's a girl and sometimes when I feel him/her kick I think it's a boy. So just for fun I will say that I think it's a girl since Shane thinks it's a boy. Haha. Either way he is doing great, measuring 4 days ahead of his age! I feel him (I just say him because it's easier than saying him/her everytime) kick regularly now. I can tell when he is awake and moving around or when he is just trying to get comfortable to go back to sleep. It's really neat to feel. Shane has been able to feel him already, too. Baby always kicks William when William is leaning on my belly but it doesn't seem like William has noticed it at all yet. My due date will stay the same: June 6.

We are finally starting to get over the blizzard that we had last week. It is still staying in the -30s though. Really cold! It's too cold to bring William out for walks so I am really anxious for it to warm up a little bit. We don't like staying inside all day. Our truck was having trouble for a couple days. It wouldn't start even if we plugged it in over night. It is at the shop right now and hopefully will be fixed by tonight.

Continue to pray for my friends, Tammy and Melissa. Tammy is here in Inuvik and Melissa recently moved to Aklavik. I don't get to talk to either of them in person very often but we email several times a week. I am inviting them out to church and stuff like that. Please pray for their salvation.

Well, have a great day!

Getting back into the swing of things

Well the holidays are over and we are finally get back to normal. Last night Shane and I had a really good time taking William out on his sled that he got for Christmas. He really loved it. He fell off twice but I caught him before he hit the ground. I will add photos of that.

A lady from church came over yesterday to give me a little bit of instruction on how to finish William's coat that I am making for him. I have all three layers cut and sewn, I just need to sew them together then add fur and a zipper. I am really excited to finally see the end near. I was hoping to have it done before Christmas! I will make sure to post pictures of the coat and William wearing it when I am done with it.

Not a whole lot has been going on. The sun will be back this weekend and I am really looking forward to that. It is already getting a little brighter each afternoon and staying brighter longer. I can't wait to see sunshine again!!!! Plus on Saturday they will do fireworks for the 'return of the sun' festival. It should be a nice weekend.

Well, I will post again when I have more to tell about! Have a good weekend!

The first two pictures are William waiting for me while I clean the snow off of his stroller. The last three are of his first sled ride.

Merry Christmas!

I know I am a little late, but I wanted to wait to post until I could post some photos. Shane got me a new camera for Christmas so I was taking lots of photos! The first two pictures were taken on Christmas Eve (when Shane gave me my camera). The first at the Christmas Eve service at church and the next picture of Will and TBone on Christmas Eve morning.

These next pictures were taken on Christmas day. The first one is William trying out his new ski-doo sled. It is still too cold to take him outside to use it but I think I will try on Saturday if it's not too windy. He really likes climbing on and off it when it is inside so hopefully he will enjoy it when we take it outside and pull him around in it.

This picture was taken Christmas night. We gave William a candy cane at about 7 pm. He enjoyed it throughout the hour taking bites and carrying it around while he played. By 7:45 he climbed up on the couch with me, laid down and fell asleep just like that! Haha we think he just crashed from all that sugar. He slept for about a half hour then was up and ready to play again! He really enjoyed his second Christmas!
We are PRAISING THE LORD right now as a friend of Shane's (whom the church has been praying for since Shane was a kid) got saved! It is so amazing to see answered prayer and even better when it happens around Christmas time!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!
